Have been back from overseas a month now. Yes, it’s really hard to believe! Back into work and ‘normal’ life. I’ve been trying to keep up the biking and hiking exercise but it’s really not the same when you don’t have the spectacular scenery of France. It’s something I will never forget. Have thrown myself into fundraising for Legacy. My better half, Peter, and I went to Caulfield Racecourse to rattle tins on a disgustingly windy and wet day last month. Didn’t do too badly with the way the weather was. Also attended Legacy Sunday which is the start of Legacy Badge Week – their main fundraising week for the year. Legacy widows make the pilgrimage to the Shrine of Remembrance to remember husbands and loved ones lost through wars. Very timely with the five defence personnel lost in Afghanistan recently. Unfortunately Legacy will always have a job picking up the pieces for the families left behind. Some things never change. It’s not all sadness though. It’s a good feeling to be able to make a difference to their lives.
